Mission & Vision
The Yemeni American Resource Center’s mission is to improve the quality of life for the Yemeni American community by providing a variety of educational, recreation, social and wellness programs.
We envision a strong and collaborative community that preserves safety, prosperity and empowerment of everyone of its members mainly youth.
Creating a caring, safe and supportive environment for every member of our community; strengthening our community by sharing resources and providing growth opportunities; Supporting and inspiring the youth to attain an excellent education; Helping youth develop and improve their life skills such as leadership, communication and problem solving.



Fawaz Alriashi
Co-Founder
Fawaz Alriashi is currently the president of the Yemeni American Association. He is an innovative, inspirational and collaborative community leader. As a cofounder of the Yemeni American Youth Center, Fawaz aims to help the community learn, thrive and innovate by having access to the needed resources. He believes in Youth leadership and power to transform the community and improve the quality of life for its members.

Mokhtar Mohamed
General Manager
Mokhtar joined with extensive experience in leadership, youth development, advocacy and community engagement. Mokhtar received his education in the field of International Relations from San Francisco State University.

Seena Almahan
Program Specialist
Seena Almahan is the program specialist at the Yemeni American Resource Center, a high school Arabic teacher at Bay Area Arabic Academy, and a health coach. Seena has over 15 years of experience in teaching the Arabic language across the Bay Area. She served as the Arabic program lead at Averroes high school, and taught at many other islamic schools. She is also a certified health coach who is dedicated to helping her community achieve their personal health goals. Recently, she joined the Yemeni American Resource Center as a program specialist that is responsible for designing programs, planning events, and community outreach that will expand the center’s services to the Yemeni community and its youth. Her interests include poetry, health, and above all community service.

Izzuddin Ahmed
Co-founder and Executive Director
As co-founder and Executive director, Izzuddin advocates for empowering every member of the Yemeni American community. He is passionately committed to education, community sustainability and youth leadership.He is responsible for developing and implementing strategies and policies that help achieve the organization’s mission and goals. He engages with community groups to deliver the mission of the organization and ensure the sustainability of the organization. Before co-founding this center, Izzuddin had been leading his organization of Generous Hands Foundation, a nonprofit charity that has been funding many youth and educational programs in our community and delivering humanitarian aid to the people of Yemen.
